Payroll and Finance Specialist – Crowe Global – Remote Role

Crowe Global is an international network of accounting and advisory firms that provide audit, tax and consulting services. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented payroll and finance professional to support the global head office of an international accounting network. This role will play a critical role in ensuring smooth payroll administration, maintaining accurate employee and contractor records, and supporting finance functions that help the organization operate efficiently and strategically.

You’ll work closely with the Financial Controller to support core business operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving, small teams and is comfortable wearing multiple hats.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations (60%)

  • Manage payroll processing in coordination with Oasis, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Coordinate updates such as new hires, terminations, salary changes, and bonuses, and ensure proper communication with Oasis.
  • Coordinate with compliance with multi-state payroll regulations, including tax withholdings and benefit deductions.
  • Maintain and update employee and contractor records.
  • Coordinate benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations with our benefits provider.
  • Ensure benefit deductions are accurately reflected in payroll and address employee benefit-related inquiries.
  • Assist with recruitment coordination and respond to employee questions related to payroll and HR matters.
  • Support monthly close by preparing payroll-related journal entries and benefit allocations, reconciling payroll reports, and assisting with audit schedules and 1099 filings.

Finance Operations Support (40%)

  • Provide day-to-day support to the Financial Controller, helping ensure smooth finance operations.
  • Assist with general accounting tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records to support reporting and audit requirements.
  • Play a key role in financial related projects.

Qualifications

  • 6-8+ years of experience in payroll, HR operations, and accounting support roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of core accounting principles, including full-cycle accounting, general ledger maintenance, month-end close processes, accounts payable/receivable, and journal entries, with strong experience in bookkeeping and financial data entry.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software, excellent computer skills.
  • Motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow through independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
